中西方文化中的禁忌语比较_英语论文

A Comparison of Taboos between China and Western Cultures

摘要

语言是思维的工具，也是信息与文化的主要载体，它是人类最重要的交际工具，人们彼此的交往离不开语言。语言和语言的使用深深植根于特定的社会文化中。如今，随着经济全球化的发展，不同文化之间的交流也日益增强。因此，国与国之间的语言交流显得格外重要。

禁忌语是人类社会普遍存在的文化现象。禁忌语普遍存在于世界上各个文化中，它涉及到人类生活的方方面面,包括家庭、社会、国家等等。

本论文在前人研究的基础上，运用举例子的方法，比较禁忌语在中西方文化中的异同，目的是为了让英语学习者了解中英文禁忌语，使读者在跨文化交际中能够有效沟通。

Abstract

Language is a tool of thinking and also the main carrier of information and culture. It is the most significant communicative tool of human society.The relationship between people could not exist without language. The language and its application are deeply rooted in specific social culture. Nowadays, with the development of

globalization, the communications among people in different countries become more and more frequent.

Taboo is a cultural phenomenon which commonly exists in human society. Taboo is not only exclusive in Tonga Island, but also exclusive in anywhere of the world. It involves various aspects in people’s daily life, including family, society, country and so on.

In this paper, based on previous research and studies, the author uses the research ways of examples and comparisons. The author aims at helping English learners understand taboos and communicate effectively among people in different countries.
