An Analysis of Chinese Popular Internet Word Translation—From the Perspective of Dynamic Equivalence Theory

摘要

如今，网络流行语在人们的日常生活中扮演了至关重要的角色。因而，网络流行语的翻译也显得越来越重要。如何翻译中国的网络流行语成为了学者研究的重要课题。本文讲述了动态对等理论和网络流行语的定义。从语音，词汇，和语法这三个要素，并运用多个典型例子，从多方面阐述网络流行语的构成特点。最后，把读者反映作为衡量标准，运用直译加注，音译加注和意译等方法，对当下网络热词的翻译进行分析。

Abstract

Nowadays, network buzzwords play an important role in our everyday life. As a result, the translation of Chinese network buzzwords becomes more and more important too. How to translate Chinese network buzzwords has become a significant study for scholars. This article introduces the definitions of dynamic equivalence theory and network buzzwords briefly. The author uses several typical examples to elaborate the constitutional features of network buzzwords on the basis of three elements: phonetic features, lexical origins and grammar features. Finally, some translation methods for Chinese network buzzword translation are introduced from the perspective of dynamic equivalence theory, which takes readers’ response as a criterion; they are literal translation with notes, transliteration with interpretation and free translation.
