A Study of The Golden Notebook from Feminism

摘要

女权主义一直是非常有影响力的社会运动，这种运动为大量女权主义作家提供了创作的灵感，对女性的悲惨境遇进行了描述从而激发大众帮助女性获得自由和平等。在小说《金色笔记》中，多莱斯莱辛将她的女性主义观点，也就是她就女性是如何获得自由和平等方面的观点呈现出来。本研究对小说所呈现出来的多莱斯的女性主义观点进行细致的分析，分析阻碍女性获得自由的障碍以及女性为实现自由平等目标所作出的努力。本论文亦阐述了女权主义的理论及其发展，并从多丽丝莱辛个人经历的视角解读《金色笔记》中女性的生活遭遇和困境，探讨小说中的女性在二战后支离破碎的世界背景下，如何从裂、混乱的人生走向统一，实现自由。最后探究自由女性的出路，从女性对自我反省和女性与世界的联系出发，重新审视女性的地位和发展之路。

Abstract

Feminism has been one of the most important and influential social movements and this movement has stimulated countless feminists to demand higher social status of females. Besides, such a social movement inspired large numbers of feminist writers to describe the tragic experiences of females so as to stimulate the public to help females to gain freedom and equality. In the novel, The Golden Notebook, Doris Lessing presented her unique standpoints about how females could gain freedom and equality. In this research, Doris’ feminism shown through the novel is analyzed in details. This thesis talks about feminism and development of feminism. It analyses women’s life experiences and predicaments from Doris Lessing’s personal experiences. This thesis discusses how women survived in the split, chaotic life to unity and gained freedom in the background of the fragmented world after World War II. Finally, the thesis explores women’s way-out. It re-examines women’s status and development in terms of women’s self-reflection and connection between women and the world.
