摘要

A.S.拜厄特是英国著名女性代表作家之一，她的短篇小说《玫瑰色茶杯》以代沟为主线，通过主人公维罗妮卡对于过去生活的追忆和想象，描述了家族中女性的生存情况以及历史命运。本论文分为三个部分，第一部分讨论文中所出现的重要器物所代表的现实意义以及隐喻意义，第二部分和第三部分研究主要角色的女性意识的发展。通过对比，突出女性意识的不断发展和改变以及文中主要人物对于自我身份的重新认知，进一步丰富对《玫瑰色茶杯》中女性角色的解读方式，深化对人物的认知。

Abstract

A.S. Byatt is a famous contemporary British novelist who focuses on feminism. In her short story Rose-colored Teacups, she describes the living conditions and historical fates of females in a family throughout the main character Veronica’s imagination and memory towards past life on the basis of generation gap. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first part discusses the realistic and symbolic meanings of items. And the second and third part investigate on the development of feminist consciousness of main characters. By comparison, this thesis portrays the self-recognition and reconstruction of self-identities. It also emphasizes on the changes and developments of feminist consciousness. In addition, it enriches interpreting approaches to the investigations of female characters and then deepens the comprehension of characters.
