A Brief Analysis of the Different Values between Chinese and American Reality Show---Take "Liberation Daily" and "The Times" as example

摘要

选秀节目作为电视真人秀的一种，近些年在中国异常火爆。如今的中国电视荧屏中出现了各种各样的选秀节目。作为一种舶来品，中国的选秀节目在中国的发展实现了本土化，与堪称选秀节目之祖的美国相比，选秀节目在引入中国后深深打上了中国文化的烙印。艺术作品来源于生活，同时又反映着生活。电视节目表现形式的异同折射出文化价值观的异同。

本文将通过对比中美两国主流媒体《解放日报》和《泰晤士报》对于真人秀节目的评论，揭示中美两国真人秀节目在各自的表演风格和特点上的差异。并从社会文化和意识形态等角度探讨造成差异的原因所在。旨在为中国真人秀的节目长期良性发展提供借鉴和改善的方法，促进我国真人秀节目的良性发展。同时也帮助观众在欣赏此类节目时能更好地理解它国文化，促进文化的沟通和交流。

Abstract

In recent years, reality show as a TV reality show swept over almost each corner of China. What’s more, a variety of reality shows have been emerged on local television. Regarded as imported goods, the development of Chinese reality show achieves the localization successfully. Compared with United States which is honored as the earliest ancestor of reality show , Chinese culture has been deeply marked as a distinct brand into the reality show after it was launched into China. Art comes from life, but also reflects the life. The cultural similarities and differences expressed on TV Programs reflect the similarities and differences of cultural values. 

This paper is intended to explore the differences between Chinese and American reality show in terms of performance styles and features through a competitive analysis of comments on reality show from two mainstream medias: Chinese Liberation Daily and American The Time. And further explore the reasons of similarities and differences formation in perspectives of social culture and ideology so as to provide experiences and references for long-term benign development of Chinese reality show. Meanwhile, the paper is focused on helping the audience better understand foreign culture and promote cultural exchanges and communication when watching such programs.
