A Comparative Study of the Classroom Teaching between China and America by the example of Young Style and Dead Poets Society

摘要

教育乃国之根本,是民族兴旺的标记。无论在哪个时代、哪个国家,教育都是不可忽视的。而课堂教学作为教学工作中的一种基本组织形式,在教育教学中有一定的地位和作用,课堂教学的质量则会影响人才培养的质量,甚至影响整个教育的发展。随着全球化的发展,我国的课堂教学也不可避免的和不同文化背景下的各国发生碰撞与融合。如何在坚持中国特色的情况下,吸收外来优秀文化以提高我国课堂教学质量,已成为学者热切关注的问题。

“他山之石,可以攻玉”。研究美国课堂教学对于我们借鉴国外的教学经验,提高学生和教师的全面发展有重大意义。作者通过两部电影对中美两国的课堂教学进行了多方面的对比。旨在通过对中美两国课堂教学的教学理念,教学方法,教学内容以及教师形象的比较分析,探讨两国课堂教学差异的原因,为现今的教学改革提供参考。

Abstract

Education is the foundation of the country and a symbol of national prosperity. No matter in which era or in which country, education could not be ignored by people. Then, the classroom teaching as a basic form of educational work, has a certain status and important functions in education. The quality of classroom teaching would affect the quality of personnel training, and even influence the advancement of education as a whole. With the advent of globalization, Chinese education also inevitably faces collision and integration from countries all over the world which with different cultural backgrounds. How to absorb the excellent exotic culture under the condition of adhering to Chinese traditional culture to improve teaching quality has become a concern of the whole society. 

“Master’s Experience Might Be Helpful for the Beginners”. Research of American classroom teaching has great significance to our experience of teaching, which can promote the overall development of students and teachers. The author makes a comparative study of the classroom teaching between China and America through two films. In addition, the author discusses the differences of classroom teaching between China and America from several aspects, including teaching idea, teaching method, teaching content and the image of teachers. And then the author inquires into the causes of the differences to provide practical recommendations to Chinese education.
