女性主义叙事学视角下的《到灯塔去》_英语论文

An Analysis of To the Lighthouse from the Perspective of Feminist Narratology 

摘要

弗吉尼亚•伍尔夫是二十世纪初期著名的现代主义小说家,文学评论家，女性主义文学批评理论的领路人。《到灯塔去》是伍尔夫极具代表性的意识流小说，诞生于伍尔夫思想和艺术的成熟时期，引起了国内外学者的关注。多数学者选择从象征手法，意识流写作技巧，双性同体等角度研究该小说，而相对从女性主义叙事学角度的研究却不多。因此，本论文以女性主义叙事学理论为视角，同时结合伍尔夫的叙事技巧与策略，研究伍尔夫如何通过小说人物叙事视角的交替更迭，利用叙事的时间艺术与间接内心独白，从而构建女性的话语权威与体系。研究发现，小说《到灯塔去》打破传统的男性叙事框架，展现伍尔夫独特的女性意识与语言魅力。

Abstract

Virginia Woolf is one of the most famous modernist novelists and literary critics in the early twentieth century, and she is also the pioneer of the feminist literary criticism. To the Lighthouse is the representative works of her stream-of-consciousness novels, born in the mature period of her career, which captures the attention of many scholars home and abroad. Many of them study it from the perspective of symbolism, the writing techniques of stream of consciousness, androgyny and so on, but only a few analyze it from the angle of feminist narratology. Therefore, the thesis, from the perspective of feminist narratology, combined with Woolf's narrative skills, analyzes how Woolf attempts to construct female discourse and establish the female narrative authority. The conclusion of the thesis shows that, by using the skills of shift of narrative perspectives, spatiotemporal narrative and indirect interior monologue, To the Lighthouse breaks the traditional male narrative framework, showing her unique feminist consciousness and language charm.
