摘要

随着社会经济发展如此迅速,文化的交流日益重要,电影已经不仅仅只作为一种娱乐媒介,还担当着文化交流、文化传播的角色,人们开始逐渐通过电影来了解文化以及获取知识。其中电影字幕作为电影重要的一部分受到莫大的关注。电影字幕的翻译要受到电影画面以及时间、空间上的制约,这与传统的翻译十分不同。电影字幕翻译要求不仅要翻译出语言的意思,更需要有效地传达电影表达出来的文化。本文将从奈达的功能对等的理论视角,对欧美喜剧动作电影《瞒天过海:美人计》的字幕翻译进行研究分析。这一研究过程将更好地帮助我们去了解电影字幕翻译上所存在的不足之处,在考虑中美文化差异的背景下阐述功能对等理论在欧美电影作品字幕翻译的实用性,同时进一步推动中国电影字幕翻译的发展。

Abstract

As social economy develops so quickly, culture communication gets more important than ever before. Films are not only as a medium for entertainment, but also play a role in culture communication and transmission. People start to learn culture and acquire acknowledge through films. And as an important part in films, subtitle translation is of great concerns. The subtitle translation is to be restricted by the frame, time and space, which is distinct from the traditional translation. And film subtitle translations require not only to translate the languages’ meaning, but also to convey the culture meaning of the film itself. This thesis analyzes the subtitle translation of the film Ocean’s 8 from the perspective of Nida’s Functional Equivalence theory. This study will help us to better know the deficiencies of the subtitle translation, and explain the practicability of functional equivalence on western film subtitle translation by thinking about cultural differences between China and America, meanwhile to promote the further development of subtitle translation in China.
