An Analysis of the Character Image of Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games from the Perspective of Eco-feminism_英语论文

摘要

《饥饿游戏》是由美国女作家苏珊·柯林斯所创作的科幻青春系列小说《饥饿游戏》三部曲中的首部曲，其余两部分别命名为《饥饿游戏2：燃烧的女孩》和《饥饿游戏3：嘲笑鸟》。三部作品是一个连续的故事，讲述了在一个反乌托邦社会中，主人公凯特尼斯·伊夫狄恩自愿代替妹妹参加一场名为“饥饿游戏”的竞技猎杀游戏，历经一系列生与死、情感与罪恶的考验，最终成为这场厮杀游戏的胜利者。该小说自出版以来便因为其对现实社会的真实的映射与批判和女性成长主题等而受到了广泛的关注。众多学者也对此作品进行了不同方面的解读和研究。本文试从生态女性主义视角出发，通过对女主人公凯特尼斯·伊夫狄恩对自然的态度、对父权统治的反抗以及对自由、平等、和谐的追求等方面进行解读，以挖掘作品中蕴含的生态女性主义思想。

Abstract

The Hunger Games is the first version of The Hunger Games Trilogy, a young adult series written by American writer Suzanne Collins, followed by The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay. These three novels tell a continuous story set with the background of a dystopian society. The Hunger Games depicts the adventures that the protagonist Katniss Everdeen confronts. She volunteers to take her sister’s place to be a tribute in a fight-to-death game and eventually becomes the victor of the game. Since its publication, the work has received extensive attention due to its true reflection and criticism of the real society and the theme of female growth. Many scholars have studied the work from various perspectives. This paper aims to explore the main characteristics of the protagonist under the guidance of Eco-feminism, including her attitude towards nature, her rebel against the patriarchy and her pursuit of freedom, equality and harmony to disclose the connotation of Eco-feminism contained in the work.
