On SMEs’ Transnational Operation in China

摘要:在经济全球化加速发展的当代,越来越多的企业走上了跨国经营的道路,这已经成为当今世界经济活动的主要特征,并逐渐成为国际活动中最活跃和最具影响力的组织形式。跨国经营是我国“走出 去”战略的重要组成部分,也是维护我国国家经济安全的重要举措。目前中国从事跨国经营的企业已有三万多家,其中,中小企业已成为我国企业跨国经营的一个重要载体。实践证明,中小企业要发展壮大,应当充分拓展国际市场,不断寻求新的发展空间。

Abstract: Associated with the accelerated development of economic globalization, more and more enterprises have been moving towards multinational operation, which are major features of international economic activities. And multinational companies have been the most active and influential organization form. Being a part of the “going out” strategy, it also contributes to protecting the national economy from challenges caused by globalization or economical bubbles. Nowadays, China is engaged in international business leaded by more than thirty thousand transnational enterprises. Furthermore, the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) among them play a much more important role. It has been proved that they are required to expand the foreign markets and seek for new growth eagerly.

Introduction     

Transnational operation is seen as an inevitable trend in socialization, modernization and internationalization, responding to the demand of international industrial division of labor and capital flows. It means that active participating in the international division of labor and free trades is quite essential, so do good use of foreign markets and absorbing advanced technology. Only in this way can we grasp the external information in a timely manner. Of course, small and medium-sized transnational enterprises have been contributing a lot to the economy growth globally. However, compared to foreign companies, domestic ones are still with defectiveness, which needs an adjustment in the operation strategy. According to the transnational operation theories of small and medium-sized enterprises, this paper analyzes opportunities and challenges of small and medium-sized enterprises in China, and offers some suggestions.
