摘要

叶芝被誉为二十世纪最伟大的英语诗人之一，也是象征主义文学的代表人物之一。叶芝的写作受到了各方面的影响，例如来自浪漫主义的影响，布莱克和雪莱的影响。所以这种多方面的影响也反映在了他所写的诗歌当中，并体现出了他的思想发展轨迹。

本论文包含五个部分，第一部分为引言，介绍了叶芝的创作背景和诗歌成就，并阐述了本文的目的是通过比较叶芝在三个时期的意象变化而分析其写作风格的变化，期望能更深刻的理解叶芝的思想。第二部分简要介绍了国内外至今为止关于叶芝的研究现状和成果。第三部分是理论框架，概述了象征主义的发展。第四部分是本文的主体，主要分析了叶芝诗歌中的花和鸟等意象在不同时期的象征意义变化，从而浅显的总结出叶芝的写作风格的变化。第五部分是本文的结论，通过对叶芝诗歌的中的象征意义比较发现，叶芝在前期的写作风格偏向于梦幻，逃避现实，在中期则偏向硬朗风格，开始关注现实，而在后期偏向于哲学，试图用朴实的言语将自己的思想升华为哲学高度。希望本论文能为日后的叶芝诗歌研究提供借鉴和参考。

Abstract

W. B. Yeats was known as one of the most important English poets and the representative writer of the symbolism in literature. His writing was received all kinds of influence, such as the Romanticism and the influence from Blake and Shelly. Therefore, it reflected in his poetry and revealed him development of thoughts. 

This thesis consists of five parts. The first part is the introduction that briefly introduces Yeats and his poems. The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the changes of Yeats writing style by comparing the changes of images in three period. On this basis, the author of this thesis hopes to have a deeper understanding of Yeats’s thought. The second part introduces the research status of Yeats at home and abroad. The third part is the theoretical framework. It mainly discusses the development of the symbolism. The fourth part is the main body, which mainly analyzes the changes of symbolic meaning of the flower and bird images in Yeats's poems, and briefly summarizes the change of Yeats writing style. The fifth part is the conclusion. By comparing the symbolic meanings, it could draw a conclusion that he desired to escape reality and his writing style was dreamy in his early period. In his middle period, Yeats tried to focus on reality and his writing style was tough. However, Yeats started to think about philosophy and tried to sublimate his thoughts into philosophy with simple words in his later period. The author of this thesis earnestly hopes that this thesis can provide a reference for the study of Yeats poetry in the future.
