摘要 

美国著名语言学家格莱斯提出的“合作原则”揭示了说话双方在交际过程中应该遵循的准则。故意违反合作原则往往能创造出人意料的幽默效果，可以在戏剧或文本中更好地展现人物的性格特征。本文提取美国情景喜剧《查莉成长日记》中的相关语料，针对违反合作原则中的某一条具体准则而引发的幽默进行了详细分析，进而证明违反合作原则对于幽默的产生机制具有很强的解释力。与此同时，对语料的实例分析有利于英语学习者深刻掌握幽默语言的表达方式，从而有效提高他们的英语交流能力。
