Study on the Translated Terms in Primer of Logic Based on Terminology Database_英语论文

摘要

严复（1854-1921年），是中国近代翻译史上具有划时代意义的翻译家。他是首创完整翻译标准的先驱，是历史上第一位系统地将西方社会学、政治经济学、哲学及自然科学介绍到中国的启蒙思想家、教育家。《名学浅说》，原著是西方作家William Stanley Jevons的Primer of Logic一书。该书系统全面地阐述了传统逻辑学这一概念，严复先生用严谨治学的态度翻译此书，首次将逻辑学引进中国，不仅传播了西方先进的学术思潮，书中倡导的科学思想和逻辑精神更对中国社会的发展影响深远。对《名学浅说》的研究有助于指引我们更好的吸收外来文化、发展本民族文化事业。国内外对于严复先生学术主张的研究多集中于他对西方著作的翻译及其翻译对当代中国社会产生的影响上，对于《名学浅说》的研究也多集中于书中倡导的逻辑学精神方面，而对于书中许多特定词句的中文译法研究还有很多值得探索学习的空间。《名学浅说》英文原文共3万词，严复先生的译文有6万字，译著夹杂文言文，属于半文言文语体，用语讲究，非常适合对书内译名的构成与特征进行语料库建立，分析研究严复先生的翻译思想及其意义。
