On the Lack of Humor in Subtitle Translation and its Solutions from the Perspective of Functional Equivalence--A Case Study of The IT Crowd_英语论文

摘要

日益密切的文化交流将越来越多的英语情景喜剧作品引入中国。但基于中西方语言和文化的极大差异，影视字幕翻译任务艰巨。在进行幽默语的字幕翻译时，译者有时无法准确译出原作品想表达的真实想法，从而让观众无法体会原语所传达的信息和幽默效果。奈达的功能对等理论中指出要让面向的读者和观众能够获得和源语言读者和观众同样的感受，他提出的“自然”、“恰当”和“对等”可以有效地改善这一难题。

本文以英国情景喜剧《IT狂人》为例，探讨功能对等理论下当前字幕翻译（破烂熊字幕组译）中英语幽默缺失的主要原因包括语言形式及运用的不同以及中英文化的差异，指出译者在进行幽默语言的翻译时，应从语言和文化两个主要角度来解决问题。
