摘要

新闻的产生满足了人类在社会中沟通的需求，新闻翻译则是将新闻中的信息快速有效地传递给无法理解新闻原语的读者。美国之音是美国官方对外广播机构，其发布的新闻在美国国内不允许播放，却在世界其他国家播放尤其是英语学习者间使用广泛。在中国，它以一种英语广播新闻的形式呈现，并产生了中文翻译版本。它本身语言及其中文译本都具有其与众不同的特点。本文从标题、用词、句子方面提出翻译策略提高VOA新闻翻译的质量，使VOA能够成为更好的英语学习材料。
