Stylistic Features and E-C Translation Strategies of Business English Letters Based on Eco-translatology

摘要

当今,随着改革开放不断深入,中国与外国的贸易活动也越来越频繁。商务英语信函作为商务活动的主要交流工具,在出现贸易纠纷时起着重要的书面证据的作用,因此商务信函的翻译必须准确恰当,否则将造成很大的不便和损失。商务英语信函有七大特点:完整、具体、清楚、简洁、礼貌、体谅和准确,这些特点体现于商务英语信函的文体特征中。到目前为止,国内外有很多关于商务英语信函相关的翻译研究, 但很少有人从生态翻译的角度研究商务英语信函。

本文从商务英语信函的文体特征入手,以生态为理论基础,对商务英语信函的汉译方法进行研究。本论文主要分为五个部分: 第一,介绍商务英语信函的定义及国内外研究现状;第二,探讨生态翻译学及三位转换翻译理论的定义;第三,重点分析商务英语信函的文体特征:第四部,三维转换方法为基础,通过举例论证的研究方法,分析并归纳总结出商务英语信函的汉译方法。希望通过本课题研究,通过分析, 本文旨在帮助翻译商务信函,  并为译者和外贸人员提出了一些翻译建议。

Abstract

Nowadays, with the policy of deepening reform and opening up in China, the commercial activities between China and foreign countries are on the increase. As the main communication tool for business activities, business English letters serves as documentary evidence in case of trade disputes involved. Therefore, the translation of business English letters must accrete and appropriate, otherwise it might result in great inconvenience and losses for both parties. Business English letters has seven features: completeness, concreteness, clearness, conciseness, courtesy, consideration and accuracy. These features are embodied in the stylistic features of business English letters. Up to now, there are many translation researches concerning business English letters at home and abroad, but few people research business English letters from the perspective of eco-translatology.  

This paper starts with the stylistic features of business English letters and takes ecological as the theoretical basis to study the C-E translation methods of business English letters. This paper is divided into five parts: Firstly, it introduces the definition of Business English letters and the current research at home and abroad; Secondly, it discusses the ecological translation studies and the definition of three-dimensional transformation; Thirdly, it focuses on the analysis of the stylistic features of Business English letters: Fourthly, based on the three-dimensional transformation methods, this paper intends to analyze the C-E translation strategies of Business English letters. Through the analysis, this paper aims to be helpful in the practice of translating business letters, and come up with some translation suggestions for translators and foreign trade personnel.
