Reexamining Teachers' Role in the the EFL Classroom

摘要

随着教育的不断发展和教学形式的不断完善，教师在教学过程中的角色有了很多的变化。在英语教学实践中,教师不仅教知识技能,还组织教学活动的每一个部分。本文介绍了英语课堂的现状，讨论了传统和现代英语教育老师的角色，阐述了影响教师在英语课堂作用的因素。最后,提出解决方案来改变教师在英语课堂中所扮演的角色。本文以EFL课堂为研究对象，采用定性研究方法，探讨在教育发展的背景下的教师的多种角色。

Abstract

With the development of education and the improvement of the teaching methods, the roles of teachers in the teaching process have a lot of changes. In the English teaching practice, the teacher not only teaches knowledge and skills,but also organizes the teaching activities of each part.This paper, firstly, has a brief introduction about the current situation of the EFL classroom in China. Next, it discusses teachers' role in two ways: one is traditional teachers' role in the EFL classroom; another is modern teachers' role in the EFL classroom. Then, it also explains what factors affect or determine teachers' role in the EFL classroom. Finally, it draws conclusions through discussion about suggestions for changing teachers' role in the EFL classroom.Based on the EFL classroom, this paper discusses the teachers' multiple roles under the background of the development of education.
