Applying Cooperative Learning to the EFL Classroom in Primary Schools

摘要

合作学习是目前世界范围内被广泛使用的课堂教学组织形式之一,是一种富有创意和实效的教学理论和策略体系,20世纪70年代它兴起于美国,不久便受到普遍的重视。90年代初起,合作学习理念以及课堂教学小组活动开始引入到我国小学。合作学习不仅是一种学习方式,还是一种教学的策略。合作学习需要小组研究的基本组织形式,小组成果的评价反馈,合作学习是通过在教学互动中的动态因素的应用来促进成绩的提高。合作学习有利于激发小学生的学习兴趣,提高小学生的主动性和自觉性,促进教师与学生、学生与学生之间的合作交流。合作学习是一种十分重要的学习方式,如何推动合作学习在小学英语教学中的运用,激发学生的英语学习动机和兴趣,这一问题应在小学英语教师中得到重视。

Abstract

Cooperative learning is one of teaching organized forms in class, which is used more and more widely in the world in these years. And it is also a kind of creative and effective teaching theory and strategy system. In 1970s, cooperative learning became a fashion in American educational field. Since 1990s, cooperative learning and group cooperation came into primary schools in our country. Nowadays, cooperation skills, cooperation awareness and cooperation abilities are basic qualities that should be possessed by modern people. Cooperative learning is in favor of arousing pupils’ learning interest, improving their initiative and consciousness, and promoting teacher-students and student-student cooperation and exchange. As cooperative learning is a very important learning method, how to promote the application of cooperative learning to English teaching of primary school and arouse students’ motivation and interest in English study has begun to gain extensive attention of English teachers in primary school.
