The Technology Overflow Effect of FDI and the Upgrading of Corporate Structure

摘要

20世纪60年代初,麦克道尔(MacDougall)首先提出外商直接投资存在技术溢出效应，随后大量学者对其做出大量研究。技术溢出通常指技术领先企业通过技术的非自愿扩散对同行企业以及关联企业的技术进步产生积极的影响，但又不能收取报酬的一种外部效应。技术溢出效应是提高技术水平，促进经济发展的重要途径之一。通过对国内外学者对外商直接投资的技术溢出效应的研究进行分析可知，技术溢出效应可以通过不同的渠道溢出，并且溢出效应还受到不同因素的影响。同时技术溢出效应和企业转型升级之间的联系的相关研究可得出了技术溢出效应对企业的转型升级有着促进作用的结果。

Abstract 

In the early 1960s, MacDougall first proposed that there existed technology overflow effect in Foreign Direct Investment(FDI). After that, many foreign scholars made a lot of researches on it. The technology overflow effect usually is a kind of external effect that corporations with advanced technology have obvious effect on counterparts and affiliates by spreading technology involuntarily without being paid off. Using the technology overflow effect of FDI efficiently is an important way to raise the technological level and promote the economic development. Through the researches of the technology overflow effect carried out by scholars around the world, different channels and factors of the technology overflow can be summarized. Moreover, the study of the relationship between the technology overflow effect and the upgrading of corporate structure shows that the technology overflow effect can promote the upgrading of corporate structure.
