摘要

随着最近几年来美剧观众数量的不断上升，美剧字幕也受到了更多的关注。在字幕翻译过程中，由于字幕翻译存在局限性，译者通常需要运用归化和异化来进行翻译，来处理不同文化之间存在的文化差异

本文从《摩登家庭》中选取样本进行研究，讨论了归化与异化在翻译过程中运用了那些翻译方法，以及是如何运用的；总结了归化和异化在翻译过程中的原则。

经过研究，得出以下结论：归化和异化字幕翻译过程中使用了意译、注释和增译这三种方法。其中归化主要使用意译这一种方法；异化使用了意译、注释和增译这三种方法。在字幕翻译的忠实原则和简易原则的指导下，归化和异化在使用过程中也遵循三个原则：分析文本、发挥译者主观性和符合观众审美。在影视作品字幕的翻译过程中归化与异化应该结合使用，二者缺一不可。译者需要在两者之间找到一个“平衡点”，不偏向于任何一方，才能更好地发挥两者的用处。
