论外贸英语函电翻译的忠实与变通研究
On “Faithfulness” and “Innovation” in Foreign Correspondence English Translation
摘要
本文根据翻译的基本原则“忠实”和基本方法“变通”入手，探索这一原则和方法在外贸英语函电翻译中的应用。通过网络调查法，从网上图书馆收集资料，并且引用大量的例子来论证如何更好地将基本原则“忠实”和基本方法“变通”运用到外贸函电翻译中。此外，本文还强调了在翻译过程中，对译文进行适当整改的同时，务必要确保翻译内容的忠实性。总而言之，如果能够将“忠实”与“变通”技巧性地运用到外贸英语函电翻译中的用词翻译、句子翻译、语气翻译、语态翻译这四个方面，但能够提升自身的外贸英语函电写作水平，而且还能通过正式严谨的外贸英语函电与别人建立长久稳定的贸易关系。

Abstract
According to the basis of commonly accepted translation principles of “Faithfulness” and “Innovation”, this paper is designed to discuss how to use both approaches in the process of translating foreign business correspondence between Chinese and English. This study mainly gathers some valuable information from online library to accomplish this research. Moreover, numerous examples are cited in this paper to further verify how to comply with both principles in translation. This paper emphasizes the equivalence between “Faithfulness” and “Innovation”, which means we are supposed to guarantee the original meaning when we make some innovations in translation. Moreover, this paper cites a plenty of examples about foreign correspondence translation in the following aspects: word, sentence, mood and voice. The conclusion has been made in this study that if researchers skillfully apply with “Faithfulness” and “Innovation” both approaches in translation, it can not only help to improve our writing skills when writing an official foreign business correspondence, but can also help us establish long-term trade relations with the foreign companies.
