EST translation from the Perspective of Skopos Theory

摘要

随着科技水平的日益提高，中外之间科技交流也越来越多。科技英语的地位不断提高，科技英语的翻译也日趋重要。本文以目的论为理论核心，介绍了目的论指导下科技英语及其特点和翻译方法。本文由六个部分构成，第一部分主要讨论了科技发展的重要性以及科技英语翻译的必要性。第二部分主要介绍了目的论及其三个原则。第三部分主要介绍了科技英语的主要特点。第四部分点明了科技英语翻译的现状以及存在的问题。第五部分具体深入地介绍了科技英语翻译中对于被动语态，专有名词，定语从句，部分否定句以及翻译顺序的翻译方法，阐明了如何在目的论的指导下做好科技英语的翻译。第六部分则是对全文的内容进行了总结。

Abstract

With the improvement of science and technology, more scientific exchanges between China and other countries take place. Because of the role of English for science and technology (EST), EST translation becomes more and more vital. This thesis, based on the Skopos theory, discusses the features of EST and techniques for EST translation. The thesis is composed of six parts. The first part mainly discusses the significance of development of EST and the necessity of EST translation. The second part introduces the Skopos theory and relevant rules. The third part indicates features of EST. The fourth part shows the present situation of EST translation and the  problems. The fifth part illuminates techniques for the translation of passive voice, specialized vocabulary, attributive clauses, partial negative sentences and sentence order under the guide of the Skopos theory. The sixth part comes to the concision.
