Application of Metacognitive Strategy in High School English Vocabulary Teaching

摘要

在英语语言学习中，词汇是长时间影响学生语言能力的关键点。如果没有足够的词汇量，学生就不能顺利进行听说读写。恰当的策略的应用是进行高效的词汇教学和学习的重要方法。元认知策略是一种可以提高学生自主学习能力的策略。它主要引导学生计划他们的学习过程，对其进行调节和监控。在最后，学生还需要对他们的学习结果进行评估。

本文以元认知策略理论为基础，探讨了元认知策略在高中英语词汇教学中的应用过程。在词汇教学过程中，教师通过训练培养学生元认知策略知识，让学生对词汇的全过程进行有效规划、监控和评价，以此提高学生的词汇学习能力。

Abstract

In English language learning, vocabulary learning is the key point which affects students’ language abilities a lot. Without adequate vocabulary, students cannot do listening, speaking, reading and writing smoothly. The application of proper strategy is the important method to teaching and learning vocabulary effectively. Meta-cognitive strategy can improve students’ self-study ability.Besides, it helps students to plan, adjust and monitor their study process. Finally, students should evaluate their learning results. 

This thesis is based on the meta-cognitive strategies. It discusses the process of the application of meta-cognitive strategy in high school English vocabulary teaching. During the process, teachers can develop students’ awareness of meta-cognitive strategy by training them. They are expected to guide students’ to plan, monitor and evaluate the whole process of learning vocabulary to improve their ability of learning vocabulary.
