An Appreciation of the Artistic Features of the Theatre of the Absurd through Analyzing Harold Pinter’s The Homecoming

摘要

荒诞派戏剧兴起于二十世纪五十年代的法国，是第二次世界大战后西方戏剧界最有影响力的流派之一。哈罗德品特的《回家》这部作品，是荒诞派戏剧中具有代表性的作品之一，研究这部作品对于研究荒诞派戏剧也是具有重要作用的。

本文旨在通过举例分析作品《回家》中的人物对话来突出荒诞派戏剧的艺术特色，即荒诞派戏剧有别于传统戏剧的特点，主要是结构、语言、情节的荒诞性。从具体例子分析、概括、总结，同时借鉴同类文本的写作方法，得出荒诞派戏剧的艺术特色。

Abstract

The Theatre of the Absurd, which originated in France in the 1950s, is one of the most influential schools in the western world since the Second World War. The Homecoming written by Harold Pinter is one of the representative works of the Theatre of the Absurd. It is also important to study the works of the Theatre of the Absurd.

This paper endeavors to analyze the artistic features of the Theatre of the Absurd through the conversations between the characters in The Homecoming. The artistic features of the Theatre of the Absurd are different from traditional dramas in the absurdity of structure, language and plot.
