摘  要

英语是信息时代的全球语,而旅游业的发展又进一步巩固了英语作为全球语的重要地位。随着中国旅游业的开放,许多外国朋友来中国旅游,他们认为旅游可以扩大知识面且能学到另一种截然不同的文化。旅游英语包括旅游材料翻译和导游口译,涉及到两种语言的转变。因此,旅游英语这个特殊文体在旅游业中流行。旅游英语使语言知识与旅游专业知识完美结合。然而,这不是很容易,因为中西文化的不同,在旅游英语翻译上存在一些问题。本文旨在从语言学的角度分析旅游英语的语言特点,简要分析了旅游景点介绍翻译的一些障碍因素。文章为中国旅游英语学生和旅游从业者更好的了解和使用旅游英语提出了一些可行性较强的技巧,并且也为旅游景点介绍翻译打下良好的基础。

Abstract

English is a global language in the Information’s Age and also one of the most important international communication tools all over the world. The population of using English in the world is always increasing. In addition, the rapid development of tourism industry further consolidates the importance of English as a global language. With the opening-up of Chinese tourism industry, many foreign friends choose to travel in China, because they hold the view that traveling can enlarge their knowledge and make them learn another totally different cultures and customs. Tourism English is very important including the tourism materials translation and the guide’s interpretation, which involves the transformation between the two languages. As a result, tourism English appears as a particular variety of English, and becomes popular and necessary in tourism. Tourism English makes a perfect combination with language knowledge and tourism professional knowledge; it bears the mission of publicizing our Chinese culture. However, it is a tough job and many problems exist in tourism English translation because of the differences between Chinese and Western cultures. In this paper, it aims to analyze its features from the perspective of linguistic, and the obstacles existing in the translation of scenic spot introduction. The essay intends to sort out some feasible skills for the Chinese students majored in tourism English and the staff in this field, which they could adopt when dealing with scenic spot introduction translation.

1 Introduction
Nowadays, English has been getting more and more attention, especially since Beijing won the bid to hold the 2008 Olympic Games. As the living standard of Chinese people is getting higher and higher, many more foreigners have great interests to travel in China. Moreover, English plays an important part in the international communications and tourism. Many universities set tourism English as a course and a great many people in tourism fields begin to use English during their working, and many Chinese tourist materials are translated into English for the conveniences to foreign tourists.
