摘要：

21世纪是一个快节奏的世纪，阅读新闻是尽快掌握和了解信息的主要渠道之一，因而如何让人们在最短时间内抓住文章精髓十分重要。标题是文章的眼睛，是吸引读者注意的最直接有效的方式。本论文以目的论为理论基础，通过《参考消息》中文版对英文题目的翻译来分析叙述英文题目的特点及汉译方法，帮助读者更清晰地了解英文标题，以便更加快速地掌握文章信息。通过《参考消息》中的新闻实例加以归纳总结，最后从直译法、意译法和增词法三方面分析英语新闻标题的汉译方法。

Abstract:

With the rapid growth of the exchange between China and the foreign countries, information is becoming more and more important. With the continuous improvement of China's international status, China is increasingly concerned about the international news, which could ensure China to keep up with the current affairs and adjust its decisions correspondingly. Besides, the fast pace of life people live makes it less possible to read a piece of news carefully. People may just glance over the title and get a rough impression.As we all know the title is the eye of the paper. An accurate title helps a lot. Therefore, it is very crucial to translate the title properly and effectively. This thesis takes the Skopostheorie as its theoretical basis. By analyzing the translation of lots of English titles in Reference News, the paper aims to analyze the methods and features in title translation. First, the thesis attempts to discuss the reviews of previous studies on the English title translation and then discuss the translation methods used in the title translation which can be divided into three aspects, namely literal translation, free translation and addition.
