Abstract
  Language is a specific feature of human civilization. The intimate connection between language and society coinages every aspect of human social life during the process of the development of language. As the most popular classics of Christianity, The Holy Bible is widely introduced throughout the world and makes great impact on the human world. Now people still refers Christianity as western culture.
The difference between western and eastern culture always confuses college students. This problem has been dragging back the steps of second language teaching process. There may be many causes to this problem, one of which is certain that the students in China are not well-acknowledged to British and American cultures, which has direct impact on learning English language itself, since language is in the range of culture and is tightly bonded with culture.
The Holy Bible is considered to be an important source of western language culture as well as a classical religious masterpiece. It not only established the people’s faith in God, and helped to bring about the formation of the western countries’ daily convention, but also had tremendous influence on its carrier—language, especially English language.

语言是人类社会的一种特殊现象。语言与社会的密切关系使语言在发展过程中深深地烙印着社会生活的各个侧面。《圣经》作为基督教的一部经典，在世界上广泛传播，对西方乃至世界的文学艺术，语言以及整个社会的发展都曾产生过极大的影响。至今，人们还用基督教文明来指西方文明。
在大学英语教学中，屡见不鲜的东西方文化差异现象，经常成为困惑学生的难题。这种文化差异使得学生对所学内容不理解，严重地阻碍了学生二语习得的进程。究其原因，学生缺少对英美文化的了解，直接影响了对英语语言本身的习得。因为语言本身属于文化范畴，语言和文化紧密地交织在一起。
《圣经》不仅是一部基督教的经典著作，也是西方语言文化的源泉，其教义和思想奠定了西方文化的基础。《圣经》不仅确立了人们对上帝的信仰，促成了西方国家生活习俗的形成，而且对于其得以传播的载体—语言，尤其是英语，产生了巨大的影响。
