摘 要

在二语学习过程中,词汇是一个重点和难点,而词汇学习和教学的重心,就是怎样提高词汇学习的数量和质量。无论是传统的以语法为中心的外语教学法,还是现代教学对交际能力的强调,词汇教学一直没有受到应有的重视。本文将给学生带来许多益处。首先,作者向学生介绍思维导图,让他们对一科学地记忆技巧有基本的了解。第二,本文将会探询出一种更有效率地方法来解决词汇学习中耗费时间和低效率等问题,也就是联想法。第三,当学生们对联想法有一定的了解之后,作者将向学生介绍不同种类的联想法,这将给学生们带来欢乐而且能增强他们的创造力以及想象力。

Abstract

Vocabulary is important in the learning of a second language. How to improve the quantity and efficiency of vocabulary learning has always been a major concern for second language learners. Traditional foreign language teaching pays much attention on grammar, while communication is considered important at present teaching. However, no matter the second language teaching is grammar-centered or communicative, the importance of vocabulary teaching should not be neglected. This research will offers many benefits to students. First, the author introduces mind map to students and enables them have a simple awareness of these scientific memory skills. Secondly, this research may also find an effective approach, that is, association, to deal with the time-consuming and low efficiency problem in English vocabulary teaching. Thirdly, after students get the basic information about the association ,the author tends to introduce different types of association, which can bring joy to students and increase their creativity and imagination.

1 Introduction
1.1The background of thesis
English vocabulary learning and teaching is a difficult process, because vocabulary is quite large. However, no matter how great the English vocabulary is, words have a certain word-formation rules. There are a variety of word-formation rules, but statistical study was conducted by Anderson, JR in 1990 found that the formation of new words by deriving takes up 30-40% of the newly words, then this indicates derivation plays a fundamental role in English word -formation.
