摘  要

情境教学是依据教材的内容和学生的认知特点以及兴趣需要,联系现实生活,为学生提供生动的学习情境,融教学目标于问题解决的过程中的一种教学方法。通过合理创设的情境以激发学生的情感体验,提高学生学习英语的兴趣和英语教学效率。针对当前国内的研究主要集中在情境教学在小学语文教学中运用,本论文集中于其在英语教学中的应用。本文从情境教学的研究背景和定义开始,根据相关理论,对情境教学在国内外的研究现状做了较为详细的陈述和总结,总结了创设情境应遵循的原则和创设情境的措施。本研究以英语课堂中的教师和学生为研究对象,运用文献研究法,比较研究法及访谈对情境教学法在英语教学中的应用进行阐述。

Abstract

Situational language teaching is a methodology, which is based on the teaching content, cognitive characteristics of students and their need for interest, provides vivid learning environments for students and melts teaching aims in the problem-solving process. The proper creation of situation can stimulate students’ affective experience; increase their interests in learning English thus improve English teaching efficacy. Research about Situational Language Teaching in China, however, lays emphasis on its application in Chinese teaching in primary school while this paper focuses on its application in English teaching. Beginning with the definition and researching background of situational teaching and with the help of relevant theoretical basis, this paper makes a more detailed statement about the research status of situational teaching at home and abroad, making a summary of the principles required and the measures in the creation of situations. This paper takes teachers and students in English class as its subjects, using literature review, comparison study, questionnaires and interviews as research tools to illustrate the application of Situational Language Teaching in English teaching.

1 Introduction

This paper includes five chapters, starting with the researching background, the purpose and significance of the research with a focus on the application of Situational Language Teaching in English class; points out the limitation of English teaching in China, claiming that Situational Language Teaching should be employed in English teaching for each learning period; aims to advance several principles and measures of creating effective situations in English teaching by studying and analyzing numerous previous authoritative publications.
