摘  要

近年来,随着现代科学技术的日益发展,多媒体技术作为一种教学手段在大学英语课堂教学中被广泛应用。本文主要分析多媒体技术在大学英语课堂教学中的利与弊,及其与传统课堂教学模式相比所具备的优势,多媒体课堂教学的现状、问题及对策。多媒体技术的优点包括:多媒体技术能够提高教师的备课效率及教学效率;能够提高学生的学习质量。其缺点又包括增加使用者的经济负担,增加教师的备课负担以及导致师生过于依赖多媒体技术。本文既强调多媒体技术是提高大学英语课堂教学效率的重要手段,同时也提醒大学英语教师多媒体技术是一把双刃剑,要避免多媒体教学中的不利因素,做到扬长避短,从而更好地发挥多媒体技术在大学英语课堂教学中的作用。

Abstract

In recent years, with the rapid development of science and technology, the multimedia is playing an increasingly significant role in assisting English class teaching. This paper is based on the analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of multimedia in college English class teaching, including the comparison of the multimedia teaching and traditional teaching as well as the current situation. The advantages of multimedia in assisting college English class teaching can be generalized as follows: for college English teachers, using multimedia in college English class teaching can improve their efficiency of preparing lessons as well as their teaching efficiency. For college students, it can promote their learning quality. The disadvantages of it include adding more financial burdens to users, adding more loads to college English teachers, and making both college English teachers and students rely too much on Multimedia. The main purpose of this paper is to remind college English teachers that the technology of multimedia is like a “double-edged sword”, therefore, college English teachers should enhance the strengths and avoid the weakness when they use multimedia in college English class teaching. By doing so, college English teachers can create a vivid and efficient learning environment for college students.

1 Introduction


    With the rapid development of science and technology, especially the universality of computer, the multimedia is playing an increasingly significant role in assisting English class teaching. Nowadays, nearly all the universities choose to use multimedia to assist their English class teaching. Faced with such situation, a research for the relationship between the multimedia and college English class teaching becomes very important.
