Abstract:
Nowadays multimedia is widely used in the foreign language teaching and learning remarkably due to its benefits. This paper introduces the multimedia in tourist English teaching, and points out the theoretical foundation to support effective use of multimedia-assisted instruction in tourist English teaching. At the same time, the open-up and use of multimedia courseware have their popular and positive meanings to the classroom teaching and fieldwork of tourist English. The use of the courseware can save much time and money in the fieldwork, with much a high quality of indoor simulation practice. In addition, teachers can encourage the students to produce tourist multimedia courseware as a kind of feedback, which raise their capacity in the exploitation of the courseware by themselves. However, there are some suggestions about appropriate multimedia-assisted instruction in tourist English teaching with which teachers should be concerned. They should employ moderately the technology and combine both traditional teaching approaches and multimedia-assisted instruction in classroom teaching.

摘  要:
如今,多媒体已广泛运用到外教语学中来,并带来了许多有利的方面。本论文将介绍多媒体辅助旅游英语教学,并以一些教学理论为基础阐述多媒体课件的开发和使用对导游专门用途英语的课堂教学和实训实习有着普遍积极的意义。使用导游多媒体课件,可以节省大量的教学时间和费用,可以充实教学内容,为学生提供大量高质量的室内模拟导游机会。鼓励学生参与课件制作,有利于提高学生的动手能力,有利于培养学生的创新精神。并且建议教师要加强多媒体技术的培训以及将多媒体教学和传统教学相结合。

1 Introduction
Whether in the face-to-face education or in the virtual education, technology has played an active role at different times. In the last two decades, due to the advent of computer technology, information delivery has got new meaning. One of the example is that multimedia is widely used in the foreign language teaching and learning.
With the rapid development of tourism, our inbound tourism has increased significantly, so there has been a large demand for talents who are expert in language and tourism. However, traditional teaching mode can not offer field practices for training qualified guides. With the appearance of multimedia technology, multimedia teaching can play an auxiliary role to create opportunities for situational teaching. Therefore integrated with Internet, Multimedia-assisted instruction in tourist English teaching can provide the learners with a learning situation of high quality. This essay aims at providing a discussion of applying multimedia and solutions to problems in the teaching of tourist English.
