Abstract:
With regard to the cultivation of students’ self-regulated learning ability for English study, the theoretical circles at present carry on research mainly from the perspective of establishing an equal relationship between teachers and students, stimulating students’ interest in actively participating in study activities and constructing the self-teaching mode in the process of each lesson, etc. This thesis expounds the methods on the cultivation of students’ self-regulated learning ability for English study from the following angles: students’ self-management, self-restraint and self-evaluation. Nowadays, passive acceptance remains to be the general mode for college students to learn English. Only few students can show great passion for English learning. Therefore, it is an urgent task to reform the traditional teaching mode with a view to motivate students to be more involved in teaching and learning sessions, cultivating students’ ability of self-management, self-restraint and self-evaluation. As a consequence, students’ self-regulated learning ability for English study will be improved.

摘  要:
关于大学生英语自主学习能力的培养,理论界目前主要从建立平等的师生关系、激发学生主动参与学习活动的兴趣以及在每节课的过程中构建自主课堂教学模式等方面进行研究。本文从学生自我管理、自我约束和自我评价三个角度来详细说明大学生英语自主学习能力的培养方法。当今大学生学习英语的普遍方式依然是被动的接受,只有极少数的学生能够对英语学习表现出极大的热情。所以,着眼于激发学生更多的参与教与学的环节,改革传统的教学方式,培养学生自我管理、自我约束和自我评价的能力成为一项紧急的任务。这样一来,大学生的英语自主学习能力将最终得到提高。

1 Introduction
The domestic research on self-regulated learning for English study shows a rising trend in the current time. The content of the research is far reaching, covering all aspects of self-regulated learning for English study. In China, Zheng Min, Li Ming, Wei Yuyan, Du Qin, and Hui Yuling have analyzed the necessity and feasibility of self-regulated learning for English study in China’s present condition taking the approach of thinking and debating. Chen Xiaoxiang has made a research about teachers’ and students’ consciousness of self-regulated learning for English study and the relevant current situations by means of survey. Qi Hongbo has pointed out the problem how to integrate learners’ self-regulated awareness compatibly with the concept of eastern culture from the aspects of the culture differences and Chinese students’ consciousness of learning.
