Abstract and Key Words
          
Abstract: This study aims to expound the selecting criteria of neologism in lexicography from different points of view. There are lots kinds of neologism in different fields. Not every neologism could be collected into the lexicon, however. This paper would tell readers the selecting criteria of neologism. The paper starts from the definition of neologisms, and then talks about the neologisms’ influence on the standardization of the lexicon. The paper divides the source of neologism in lexicography into two parts—public judgement and linguistic research. There are four principles of selecting criteria in lexicography—the principle of tracing, the principle of stability, the principle of general utilization, and the principle of standardization. It could help readers and English learners to know more about neologisms, and try to judge a lexicon by their own comprehension.

摘要：本文旨在从不同视角分析词典编纂中新词的来源，并且阐述新词的收录原则。以此来帮助读者更好的认识新词，根据自己的理解尝试去评判一本词典是否规范、是否全面。笔者从新词的界定问题谈起，进而谈论到新词收录原则对词典规范性的影响。在讨论到词典编纂中新词的来源时，笔者将其分为大众评判与语言学家的研究成果两方面分别加以阐述。大众评判向来是词典选录新词时的主要依据，它是指大众根据新词的可持续时间、应用范围、使用频率等来评判一个单词能否进入词典。 语言学家的研究成果也十分具有利用价值，其对于新词变化趋势的研究及对于新词的多方位考量有效地帮助了词典学家进行新词的取舍。词典编纂中具体的收录原则应当遵从：实录原则，稳定原则，通用原则，规范原则。只有严格遵守以上几条原则，词典学家才能编纂出一本全面、科学并获得读者喜爱的词典。

1. Introduction
In the field of modern linguistics, language, the carrier of culture, will update continually with the development of the society. As a result, the appearance of neologism is reasonable and inevitable.
It is a very common phenomenon that more and more neologisms emerge in any kind of language. The lexicographers make great efforts to collect and describe the neologisms in time. The rather historical study of neologism came from lexicography in the past. The neologism lexicon marks the beginning of a new era in the field of lexicography. According to incomplete statistics, more than 20 kinds of neologism lexicons have been published to the public. Some of them lay stress on academics, and some emphasize the popularity of the lexicon. No matter which kind the lexicon is, the lexicographers will meet the problem of selecting criteria of neologisms in lexicography. It’s a hot potato for lexicographers because it concerns the quality of the lexicon.
