Abstract and Key Words

Abstract: This thesis aims to investigate students’ positive affective attitude in English learning. Based on the affective teaching theory, it tends to find out the affective problems in students’ English learning by analyzing the contents and features of affective attitudes and considering the characteristics of middle school students. The conclusion of the paper is that the teacher should take related measures to cultivate students’ positive attitudes and then make students enhance their study efficiency constantly by appropriate methods. After that, teachers can achieve the targets of English teaching in a better way.

摘要:本文旨在研究初中生在英语学习中的积极情感态度。文章从情感教学的理论出发,通过分析情感态度的内容特点,并结合现代初中生的特点,来了解现代初中生在英语学习中的情感问题。结论是教师应该采取相应措施来培养学生的积极态度,希望通过适当的方法让学生不断的提高学习效率,并使教师更好的达到英语教学目标。

1. Introduction
For a long time, there is a common phenomenon that teachers usually focus on cognition and ignore the impact of affective attitude. The targets of teaching and learning limit to grasp and apply knowledge. In addition, because of competitive pressure about entrance examination for high school, teachers always put emphasis on students’ activities in the system of cognition, but neglect the cultivation of temperament. As everyone knows, teaching is a process of mutual communication between teachers and students. As a teacher, he or she only emphasize their own professional level and passing knowledge, but doesn’t think about changing situations between teachers and students. They seldom observe students’ emotional experience. It seems that an invisible wall exist between them, which to cause no communication about feelings between teachers and students. As a result, it is difficult to reach the goals of teaching effect.
In the recently basic educational reform, affective attitude is one of objectives in new English Curriculum Standard. New Curriculum Standard requires that teachers not only focus on students’ language knowledge and language skills, but also pay more attention to the development of students’ affective attitude. Under recent people-oriented teaching atmosphere, it is not enough for teachers to walk near to students, but to walk into students’ heart.
