Abstract:

Multimedia English class is a model used by more and more teachers and it has various advantages. However, with the popularization of multiple classes, we can see some problems appearing. For example, problems like mechanical demonstration, defective design, monotonous forms and undue dependence are not strange to us. So it is a hot topic to use multimedia to improve the quality of teaching and students’ learning. The thesis introduces the background and significance of this thesis based on the analysis of the current situation. The thesis also concludes the domestic and foreign research situation after introducing the theory of multimedia teaching. Besides, the thesis concludes the advantages and disadvantages of multimedia based on the investigation and observation. Lastly, the thesis lists some optimizing strategies in terms of the courseware making, the using environment, teachers’ quality and traditional teaching and makes a conclusion.

摘要: 

多媒体英语课堂教学是目前中小学越来越广泛使用的教学模式,其本身具有一系列的优点,但随着它的普及与运用,一些弊端也日渐显现,如机械演示、设计不当、容量过多、易致疲劳等。因此,多媒体环境教学效果如何,如何用之提高英语教学水平和学生的英语运用能力,是近年来的热点话题。本文在分析多媒体辅助教学的发展阶段性和现实情况的基础上,阐述了选题背景和研究意义。在对多媒体教学概念简述后,综述其理论基础及国内外研究现状。另外,本文通过调查、课堂观察及教学体会总结了多媒体课件辅助初中英语课堂教学的优势及存在的问题。最后本文还从课件制作,使用环境,教师素质与传统教学关系等方面提出一些优化策略并做出总结。

1.1 The background of the study
With the rapid development of information technology, in which multimedia technology and network technology act as the core, great changes have taken place in education and teaching as well. As we know, English is playing a more and more important role in the global stage and it becomes the major foreign language Chinese students learn in school. The further development of education pushes the change in the ways of teaching, including foreign language teaching. Multimedia, as the most developed method of teaching, has been widely used in language teaching. With the help of multimedia, there will be a qualitative revolution in the field of teaching .
