Abstract:

According to definition of the situational method, teachers can create authentic situations to help students better train their ability of listening and speaking so that their comprehensive English learning ability should be cultivated at last. Then the students can conduct meaningful communication flexibly in the situations. To lead the students to practice what they’ve learned in the class in situations set by teachers is one of the goals of English teaching. The students can communicate information in English and exchange their ideas so flexibly in these situations.

摘要: 

英语情境教学是指在一定的教学理论的指导下,教师利用真实的场景或在人为创设出的情境中为完成教学目标,提高教学效率所做出的教学谋划和采取的教学措施。继而学生根据情境活用语言进行有意义的交际。引导学生在真实语境中学以致用。较自如地用英语传递信息,交流思想感情,从而实现英语教学的总目标。本文中作者阐述了情境教学的作用与方法,通过教学案例分析,对情境教学在英语听说课中的应用提出了一些建议。

1.    Introduction
When looking back, with the rapid social development in China, as an international language, English has been one of the most important courses in junior school. More and more students in junior schools are eager to learn, but they lack real practices. They are eager to show themselves, but sometimes lack of courage. They want attraction from others and praise from teachers. So the teaching method must be tailored to the pupil’s characteristics, making them accept English more easily, increasing their interest and learning efficiency. Over these last few years, however our traditional foreign language teaching has been focused only on grammar and language point, neglecting the creation of special language situation and the training of students’ language communicative ability. As a result, although many students in junior school have a good command of a large number of grammatical knowledge, sentences and phrases, they still feel awkward when they can not use English to communicate with others in the real situations.
