Abstract: Task-based language teaching, developed in 1980s, puts an emphasis on student-centered class and “learning by doing”, which has made a lot of contributions to the students’ engagement in the teaching activities and improving their learning efficiency. With the rapid development of modern technology,computer and network are now being widely used in the daily teaching. Combining task-based language teaching and network and bringing it into the college English classes can not only promote the teaching skills of the teachers but also arouse the students’ interest in English study, so that the students can better master the language. This thesis, taking the Online Writing Class for English Major of Changzhou University as an instance, will discuss how to improve the students’ comprehensive ability of English through the combination of task-based language teaching and network environment on the basis of the study of relative theories.

摘要:任务型教学法兴起于20世纪80年代,它强调以学生为中心,让学生在“做中学”,大大提高了学生的课堂参与程度和学习效率。随着现代技术的发展,计算机和网络被越来越广泛地应用于课堂教学之中,将网络环境与任务型教学法的结合引入大学英语的教学之中,不但可以提高教师的教学水平,而且可以激发学生的学习兴趣,从而帮助学生更好地掌握英语技能。本文以常州大学网络课堂中的英语专业写作课程为例,在对任务型教学法和网络辅助教学理论的研究基础上,探讨如何将两者结合来提高大学生的英语水平。

With the development of globalization and international communication, English has become an indispensable tool for students who want to achieve academic or career success, especially college and university students. English teachers are now trying to adopt new teaching methods to improve their teaching skills and help student better master the language so that they can have an advantage over the fierce competition. Task-based Language Teaching is considered as a teaching method which can improve the students' comprehensive ability of using English. Since it was introduced in China, it has been advocated to be used in college and university English teaching for many years. Thanks to the rapid advancement of modern technology, computers and network is chosen to assist the English teaching by more and more schools. In order to cultivate new talents, colleges and universities are committed to deepening the teaching reform and putting an emphasis on adopting computer and network in English teaching. Based on vast study and researches during these years, the combination of task-based language teaching and network will do benefit to improve the college English teaching quality. This thesis will focus on the implementation of the combination of task-based language teaching and network environment to help English teaching.
