摘  要

语言是文化的一部分,并对文化起着重要作用。语言不仅是人类最重要的交际工具,也是文化载体。我们的一切言行都自觉或不自觉地反映了一定的文化内涵。中国与英语国家具有完全不同的文化背景,中文和英文是建立在这种不同文化背景上的两种语言。从而造成了文化的不对等。本文从中英文化不对等性出发,分析了文化不对等性对语言和中国英语教学的影响,以及在中国的英语教学中如何克服这些负面影响。本文提出了要在英语教学中了解中英文化不对等性,重视必要的文化导入,培养学生的跨文化交际意识,促进中国英语教学,提高学生的英语交际能力。

Abstract

   Language is a part of culture, and plays a considerably important role in it. Language is not only the most important tool for human communication, but also the carrier of culture. All our behaviors consciously or unconsciously reflect certain cultural connotation. China and English-speaking countries have completely different cultural backgrounds. Chinese and English are two languages based on this different backgrounds which lead to the cultural inequalities. This paper starts from introducing the cultural inequalities between China and English-speaking countries, aiming to explore the influences of these inequalities on English Teaching in China and how to help students overcome learning disabilities made by cultural inequalities. This paper proposes to understand the cultural inequalities in English teaching, pay attention to necessary introduction of culture and enhance the students' cultural awareness in intercultural communication so as to improve English Teaching in China and Chinese students' communicative competence in English.
