摘 要

商务书信的撰写是商务活动中的一项基本活动,是商务活动中的企业与企业之间沟通信息的重要工具。尽管电话,电传和电报通信已经广泛使用,商务书信仍然是重要的通信方式。事实上绝大部分的重要电话,电报和电信通信最终还是要用书信来证实。商务书信既有一般信函的特点,同时又与商贸业务密切相关。在日益扩大的国际贸易往来中,中方人员能否与国外的合作伙伴完成顺利的沟通是成功的关键。写出地道纯正的国际商务信函是外贸人员必须具备的专业技能。本课题主要研究商务信函这种交流方式,介绍商务信函清楚,简洁和准确的写作原则。并以认知语言学为基础,对商务信函中的介词的使用从清楚,简洁和准确的写作原则出发分析其中常用介词的独特用法。本文将涵括大部分的商务信函种类,对每一种类都会选取样本,并对样本采取数据分析的方法。根据数据分析的结果对常用的介词在商务信函文体中的使用情况进行总结。对相似的介词会对比分析,对于一些商务信函中介词特有的使用方式如成对出现和借用古英语用法也会做出说明。本文的目的是通过介词这种词汇的研究使我们认识到在处理国际商务实务时处处无小事,认真对待每个词语的使用,才能完成与外方顺利的沟通。

Abstract

Writing business letters is one of the basic activities in conducting business. It serves as a main tool for communication between companies. Although telephone, fax and cable have been widely used, business letters still remain as the important way of exchanging information. Actually, most significant telephone, fax and cable should be confirmed in the form of business letters. Business letters have the characteristics of the general letters, but at the same time they are closely related with business and trade. In the expanding world trade, it is vital that Chinese staff can perform a successful communication with their foreign partners. It is a necessity for foreign trade operators to master the techniques of how to write genuine business letters. The paper’s topic is focus on the business letters--the main way of communication, and describes the usage of common prepositions in business letters. Based on the cognitive linguistics, the article analyses the usage of prepositions concerning the writing principles of clarity, conciseness and correctness. This paper will cover the major types of the business letters, and at last a data analysis of the frequency of each preposition usage will be given. According to the result of the data analysis, this paper will draw a conclusion of the usage of several widely used prepositions in business letters. Then we will make a comparison of similar prepositions. Next it will introduce some unique usages of prepositions in business letters, such as prepositions in pair and prepositions borrowed from old English. The aim of this paper is to raise our consciousness of the usage of every word in foreign trade. Every detail determines the success, therefore only when we pay our attention to these details will we have a successful communication with foreign partners.
