摘要

本文以2015年3月《中国日报》中经济新闻标题为主要研究对象，主要基于莱考夫和约翰逊的概念隐喻理论，采用定量分析和定性分析相结合的研究方法，从英语经济新闻标题中收集大量的隐喻表达式，并按照他们的源域进行分类，找出其中的概念隐喻，并对其的频率和分布进行统计和分析，最后总结出英语经济新闻标题概念隐喻的特点。

Abstract

The thesis is a study of conceptual metaphors in English economic news headlines within the framework of Lakoff and Johnson’s Conceptual Metaphor Theory, by employing qualitative analysis approach as well as quantitative approach.  The author selects the print editions of newspaper of China Daily as data sources and collects 678 news headlines from business section to classify the conceptual metaphors according to different source domains and make a detailed analysis of the frequently used metaphors. Through the analysis of the frequency and distribution of the data, this thesis has drawn some inductive conclusions of some characteristics of conceptual metaphors in English economic news headlines.
