摘要

随着全球化水平的逐步提高，国际交往日益频繁，如何成功地实现跨文化交际显得越来越为重要。然而，由于文化背景的不同，人们在交流中会遇到许多问题、误解和冲突。禁忌语作为一种特殊的语言现象普遍存在于每一种文化中，要成功实现跨文化交际，我们必须突破文化和语言之间的障碍。人们缺乏对禁忌语的了解或使用不当，就会引起冲突甚至冒犯别人，所以经常采取“回避”态度。但禁忌语作为人类语言的一部份，在生活中不可避免。本文首先将介绍什么是禁忌语，禁忌语的产生、作用及特点，随后将从跨文化的角度，通过比较中西方禁忌语的差异，提出了一些规避禁忌语的策略，从而增加人们对不同文化的了解，保证跨文化交际的顺利进行。

Abstract

With the development of globalization, exchanges and opportunities between international and intercultural communication are also increasing. And how to achieve intercultural communication successfully has become more and more important. However, due to different cultural backgrounds, people will encounter many problems, misunderstandings and conflicts in communication. Taboo, as a special language phenomenon exists in every culture, we must break the barriers between cultures and languages if we want to gain successful intercultural communication. Because lack the understanding or improper use of taboos, which could result in conflicts and offence, people often take “evasive” attitude. But taboo, as a part of human language, is inevitable in life. In this paper, we will introduce what is taboo, the origin, functions and features of taboo firstly from an intercultural communication perspective, and then propose some strategies to avoid conflicts by contrasting Chinese and western taboos, thus people can understand different cultures more preferably and ensure better intercultural communication.
