摘  要

外贸函电在国际贸易中扮演着重要角色,交易双方可以通过各种形式的往来信函建立业务关系,交流意见,共同促进交易的完成。因此,函电撰写的得体与否也影响着双方的关系建立。然而在沟通交流过程中意见不统一的情况时有发生,此时就需要一定的函电写作技巧来委婉有效地传达消极甚至是拒绝信息。所以,如何在不影响双方关系的情况下得体地拒绝是非常值得研究的一个问题。通过研究一些成功的外贸函电和阅读相关著作能够发现礼貌原则在拒绝函电中起到了非常重要的作用。掌握委婉礼貌的方法能使表达更加得体。对此将着重从拒绝信函的结构布局,拒绝方式、写作技巧,语言特点等方面展开论述。掌握好拒绝的技巧能使收信方易于接受,不破坏双方的合作关系。若将拒绝的艺术应用到生活中,也能使拒绝的话语不那么难以说出口。

Abstract

 Business correspondence plays a very important role in international trade. Both two parties of transaction can establish business relationship and communicate with each other to make the deal through business correspondence. Therefore, correspondence will influence the relationship of both sides. However, there are some situations which two parties fail to reach an agreement. At that time, it needs some skills to express the negative even refusal message in a business correspondence. So, how to refuse without influencing the relationship of both sides is worthy of studying. It is obviously found that Courtesy Principle do great help in refusal business correspondence through studying some successful correspondence for international trade and reading some related works. The using of polite euphemism will make refusal correspondence more decent. And it will analyze the structure and characteristics of English business correspondence and the discussion is focused on the types and writing skills of refusals in business correspondence. Appropriate refusal can also make refusals easier to accept and promote the cooperation of both parties. And if applying this kind of art of refusal in the real existence, the refusing words cannot be so tough for listener and it will be not that hard to speak out.
