Abstract

When it comes to interpretation of poems, the spotlight is usually on the language analysis and author-oriented understanding of the poem. Conceptual blending, a cognitive linguistic perspective on the other hand, is rarely utilized, which, however, turns out to be a more feasible and sensible way for poem decoding. The way that poets utilize images to convey their thoughts exactly reflects the conceptual blending between feelings and scenes, contributing to the emergent structure which contains the essence and implication of the poem. Given this fact, this paper proposes the Intersubjective Self-negotiation Model based on conceptual blending theory in poem interpretation with Seamus Heaney’s poems as the research subject. To be more specific, this paper will follow a reader-oriented self-negotiation inference of reader-text-author intersubjectivity, i.e., intersubjective conversation, role-play and image mapping. Within the multiple-blending network, the readerly conceptual blending process and the online cognitive interpretation of Seamus Heaney’s poems are unscrambled through three aspects---nature-mind integration, national complex and narrative subliming respectively. As it is, the intersubjective self-negotiation model features the concrete operation of “linking, washing and converging” mechanism of self negotiation principle, shedding light on the multiple-scope blending between poetic language, images and thoughts. Hence readers are entitled to appreciate the embedded meaning of poems via operation of intersubjective self-negotiation model accordingly.

纵观诗歌解读的研究，往往聚焦于诗歌语言分析或作者主导的诗歌阐意。而从认知语言学角度的概念整合却很少用来解读诗意。事实上，诗人以“物”传“意”的过程正反映了“情”与“景”的概念整合思想。其间产生的新创结构正是诗意本质或内涵之所在。有鉴于此，本文以希尼诗歌为研究对象，基于概念整合理论，提出诗歌解读的主体间自洽认知模式。具体而言，本文遵循以读者认知主体引领的读者主体，文本形象和作者主体三者之间的自洽衍推，即主体间的对话交流、角色转换和意象隐射。在多域复合网络空间中，本文从“境（乡村生活）、情（民族情结）、叙（叙事升华）”三个维度，挖掘从读者视角出发的希尼诗歌的多域概念整合和在线意义的认知解读。主体间自洽认知模式是“自洽原则”中“连接，冲洗和合流”机制的具体运作，进一步阐明诗歌语言、意象和思想之间的多域整合认知机制。由此，读者通过主体间自洽模式，便可捕捉到诗歌的深层含义。
