Abstract: 

Alice Munro is a Canadian short story writer and novelist, who received the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2013. Munro has received the Governor General's Award for Fiction three times. The short film adaptation of her story Boys and Girls won an Oscar Award in 1984. Munro received in 1990 the Canada Council Morrison  Prize for lifetime contributions to her country's cultural life. In 2009, she won the  Man Booker International Prize and won the Trillium Book Award. Munro has been characterized as a Canadian Chekhov. She was known as the master of short fiction. Munro was the 13th female writer awarded Nobel Prize in literature, and was also the first Canadian writer to receive this honor. This article will analyze The Turkey Season’s theme and language style, etc., and try to figure out what the writer intends to express through the story, so as to have a deeper understanding of and awareness to Munro and her works.
