A Study on English Learning Strategies Application in Baicizhan_英语论文

摘要

受传统教学模式以及学生自身因素影响,部分学生无法落实背单词,更别说自主高效背单词。而近年来,随着第二语言学习策略研究的发展,人们开始认识到英语学习策略对学习的影响。尽管如此,对于英语学习策略在背单词软件中的运用的研究却还存在着研究数量少,研究对象过多,研究无法反映背单词软件最新成果的问题。加之考虑到背单词软件在帮助学生背单词过程中发挥的巨大作用以及其远大发展前景,本文作者选择探究英语学习策略在百词斩背单词软件中的运用。

本论文从英语学习策略理论出发,在国内外研究基础上,主要探讨以下3个问题:1.百词斩软件是否采用英语学习策略?2.目前采用哪些英语学习策略?未能采用的策略是什么?3.现有功能是否还存在可以改进之处?

从理论角度来看, 本文梳理了国内外研究成果,包括英语学习策略的定义和分类两个方面。从实践角度来看,本文作者采用问卷和访谈作为调查工具,调查了来自全国不同地区的60名百词斩用户,了解实验对象在使用百词斩背单词软件过程中运用英语学习策略的情况。最后在整理问卷数据和访谈记录后对数据进行分析并提出相关建议。

本论文由四部分组成。第一部分综述国内外研究成果,使读者了解英语学习策略的定义和分类。第二部分对比背单词软件并介绍百词斩软件的功能。第三部分介绍本次实验。第四部分分析调查数据和访谈记录并就数据反映出的问题提出相关建议。

Abstract

Influenced by traditional vocabulary teaching modes and students themselves, many students could not start memorizing vocabulary, let alone memorizing words efficiently. Thankfully, with the development of studies on learning strategies, people have realized the importance of English learning strategies. Nevertheless, the existing studies on English learning strategies application in vocabulary memorizing applications still have disadvantages: firstly, the lack of enough researches. Secondly, they focus on too many subjects at one time. Thirdly, they cannot reflect the latest adopted learning strategies in applications. Besides, concerning the help of vocabulary memorizing applications and their bright future, the author chooses to further the research of English learning strategies application in Baicizhan, a prevalent vocabulary memorizing App. 

Based on English learning strategies and existing researches, this thesis mainly focuses on the following three questions: 1. Does Baicizhan adopt learning strategies? 2. What learning strategies have been adopted by Baicizhan? What learning strategies have not been adopted by Baicizhan? 3. Can these existing functions be improved? The author studied all these questions in terms of experiments and theories.

In terms of theories, this study mainly compares the definitions and classifications of learning strategies based on researches abroad and at home. In terms of experiments, the author selected 60 users of Baicizhan from different areas as participants. The questionnaire and interview were adopted to investigate the adoption of learning strategies when users use Baicizhan. Then the author analyzed the results and gave some suggestions.

This thesis consists of four parts. In the first part, the author reviews theories concerning about the definitions and classifications of learning strategies. In the second part, the author compares four prevalent vocabulary memorizing applications and describes the functions in Baicizhan. The third part is about research design. It gives a clear description of the questions, participants, instruments and procedures. In the fourth part, the results of this study are analyzed. Besides, some advice is mentioned.
