Study on the Metaphor of Plants_英语论文

摘要

本文研究了英语中44个与植物相关词汇的隐喻生成和运行机制。通过运用结构映射的方法，根据Alice Deignan编著的Collins Cobuild 英语语法系列中 《隐喻》 （1995）对44个植物词汇的分类，该研究将植物隐喻分为植物及植物的部分、培育植物和植物的状态三部分。研究发现隐喻是词汇拓展新意义的主要方式，词汇的隐喻用法随时间变迁趋向于变成普通语言，且植物隐喻的研究对英语学习者的语言学习有实用性的参考价值。
