《所罗门之歌》是20世纪美国著名黑人女作家的最具代表性的作品。生动形象的刻画了奶娃这一人物，给读者留下了难以忘怀的印象，以“黑人会飞”这则古老的民间传说为故事主线和象征核心。这部小说向我们讲述了一个出生于富裕黑人家庭的小儿子奶娃向南出发回到故土寻找金子，这里以奶娃的性格分析为主线，主要阐述了主人公奶娃从一个自私自利、不负责任、玩世不恭的无知青年转变成长为一个善良无私、勇于承担责任的男人。在当时种族歧视强烈的美国，黑人只有到自己的文化中去挖掘善待人生、善待社会的精神遗存，才能过上自由的生活。本论文的目的是在鉴赏人物性格的同时，探讨人物性格发生变化的原因及其影响，并帮助读者更好地了解黑人文化。
