摘 要

在WTO背景下,社会和经济的变化使英语学习者的数量不断攀升,特别是商务英语学习者。十八届三中全会后,政府鼓励提高城市化和服务产业,因此商务英语成为英语学习中的重中之重。然而,教育部下发了一个高考改革方案,旨在表明英语将不考虑在今后的高考之内。如何将经济实力转换为教育资本还将拭目以待。基于前人对WTO背景下商务英语的研究,本文通过分析、对比和总结,将继续深入讨论在此背景下的机遇与挑战,在新形势下的观点与建议。并根据分析结果,提出一些建议,从而帮助读者更好地理解新形式下的商务英语及商务英语教学。

Abstract

Under the WTO background, with the social and economic changes, the number of English learners is rising rapidly, especially among those studying Business English. After the Third Plenary Session of Eighteenth Central Committee, the government encouraged to improving urbanization and service industry. Business English, therefore, has become among the most important branches of English learning. However, the Ministry of Education has released a draft reform plan for gaokao,the national entrance examination to college. The plan is going to make it clear that English will not included in gaokao,the national entrance examination to college,in the future any more. How can economic power be switched into educational power remains to be seen. Led by the previous studies of business English under WTO background, this paper, through methods of analysis, comparison and conclusion, will continue with the discussion about challenges and opportunities brought by WTO, opinions and suggestions raised under the new situation. Then based on the results, suggestions are proposed to achieve a better understanding of business English and business English teaching under the new situation.

1 Introduction

   This paper, led by the previous studies of business English under the WTO background, and led by the new situation of the Third Plenary Session of Eighteenth Central Committee through methods of analysis, comparison and conclusion, will continue with the discussion about challenges and opportunities brought by WTO, opinions and suggestions raised under the new situation. Then based on the results, suggestions are proposed to achieve a better understanding of business English and business English teaching.
