Abstract

    From the standpoint of modern education, teacher-student interaction is considered as a crucial component in school teaching, especially in the language class. Conversations and communication in the classroom can’t exist without the interaction between teachers and students. It is pointed out in “Basic Education Curriculum Reform Compendium” issued by the Ministry of Education in 2001 that teachers should communicate with students actively to achieve mutual development[1]. As a consequence, teachers have developed the consciousness of interaction which is included in the school teaching evaluation system. Meanwhile, more and more scholars research into various forms of teacher-student interaction and make comparisons between the interaction modes of different countries. The higher education in the West has flourished to such an advanced degree as to supply lots of talents and push its technological development among the first rank of the world, hence a large number of Chinese schools endeavor to adopt foreign classroom teaching modes. However, the paradox is that students in the West are left far behind by those in China in most international competitions. Under this circumstance, it is reasonable to ask how teachers and students interact in class in the West and what are the advantages of the Chinese mode. With these questions in mind, the author has conducted a comparison of teacher-student interactions between China and the West to find a novel teacher-student interaction mode more appropriate for the national conditions and strengths of China.

摘要

   从现代教育的角度来看,师生互动是学校教学中不可或缺的一环,尤其是在语言教学课堂上。可以说,没有了师生互动,也就没有了师生间的对话和沟通。我国教育部2001年颁布的《基础教育课程改革纲要(试行)》中明确提出,教师在教学过程中应积极与学生互动,寻求共同发展。因此,在课堂上,大多数教师已经具有师生互动的意识,并且很多学校把它作为课堂评价的标准之一。越来越多的学者也在研究师生间的互动方式,并对照、比较不同国家的教学互动方式。在这其中,西方国家的高等教育普遍非常发达,并源源不断地向社会各界输送大量人才,使其科学技术水平在世界上始终处于遥遥领先的地位,以至于大量的中国学校开始采用西方的教学模式。然而悖论的是,西方学生在各种国际竞赛中常被中国学生甩在后面。因此,我们完全有理由提出这样的问题:西方课堂上的师生互动是怎么样的?中国课堂上的师生互动方式与其有何区别? 两者各自有哪些优势、劣势?带着这些问题,作者对中西方课堂上的师生互动方式进行了比较研究,以期找到一条适合中国国情的新型师生互动之路。
