Abstract: The development of morden information technology brings both opportunities and challenges to language teaching. Microblog, as one of social network services, has an important effect in recent years. It is changing people’s way of learning and communicating. As an open platform, the microblog has audios, videos, etc which would be the materials of oral English learning. It can strengthen the enthusiasm of students’ autonomous learning, create a good learning atmosphere and promote students’ learning ability. Meanwhile, too much information and many temptations may trouble students. This thesis compares microblog-based oral English teaching with tradition oral English teaching. Based on the Constructivist Learning Theory and Implicit Learning Theory, combined with the characteristics of the microblog, this thesis puts forward a new mode of oral English teaching and analyses the influence and application of microblog on oral English teaching.

摘  要:现代信息技术的发展给外语教学带来了机遇与挑战。近年来,微博作为一种新兴网络平台对人们的学习和交流都产生一定的影响。微博本身是一个开放性平台,在这个平台上,所出现的音频,视频等都会成为英语口语学习的题材。微博可以充分调动学生自主学习的积极性,创造良好的学习氛围,不断促进学生的学习能力。与此同时,信息量过大和诱惑很多也困扰着学生。本文探讨了微博形式的口语教学和传统口语教学的差别。同时,本文以建构主义学习理论和内隐学习理论作为理论基础,结合微博的特点,提出英语口语教学的新模式,并分析微博对英语口语教学的影响和应用。

In the 21st century, the Internet is changing people’s way of learning and working. “In 2007 a new form of blog came on the scene, known as microblog. The first platform, Twitter, now also the best known, won the South by Southwest Web Award” (Martin etc, 2010). Microblog is one kind of social networking services. Microblog technology has had an important impact in recent years. It was used as the learning platform. People can study and communicate on it. Microblog allows the users to share the information, which may be pictures, videos, links etc. The users can follow a person whom they are interested in and communicate with him or her. If he or she is skillful in English, it will also improve the users’ oral English. It is used in many domains, including education. Microblogs are helpful to oral English learning, so people want to make full use of microblogs and fully understand the influence of microblogs on oral English teaching. This will contribute to oral English teaching.
